TRC/TRAC* (Traction Control) *Notation used in the U.S.
Helps prevent accidents that can be caused by vehicle instability triggered by wheel spinning during acceleration.A vehicle can become unstable if its wheels begin to spin during a rapid start or acceleration on a slippery road surface, and may not travel in the intended direction. Lateral skidding can also occur during cornering. TRC helps control these vehicle behaviors(Figure 1). Eliminates wheel spinning during driving and helps a tire grip the road more securely.TRC continuously monitors the wheels during initial and subsequent acceleration. As soon as it detects that one or more drive wheels are starting to spin, it helps the wheels adhere to the road surface better by applying a braking force to those drive wheels and controlling the engine output. |
